Structured Pilates Classes in Nashville:
A Clear Path to Improvement

Most Contemporary Pilates classes today are designed as one-off workouts. You show up and take class and the next time you come back you do something completely different. There’s no clear path to progress.

At Graduate Pilates, every class is part of a system. Instead of random flows, our teachers keep classes fresh while ensuring that you get to practice and progress over time. This is how you truly build strength, control and confidence over time.

You’re not just taking classes.
You’re learning and getting better.

Why structure matters

Without structure, progress is inconsistent or unmeasurable. You might:

  • Take class multiple per week and never get the opportunity to practice the same exercise ever again

  • Skip key foundational skills necessary to master more complex exercises

  • Plateau when generalized movement without a plan is no longer enough

A structured approach solves this

Structured classes focus on core Pilates exercises and principles that can be progressively practiced over time, are intentional and effective. The result:

  • Stronger, more balanced movement patterns

  • Better Body Awareness

  • Faster, more sustainable progress

Our Approach To Structured Pilates Classes

We organize a structured Pilates class in order to maximize the value of the exercise. Many studios will prioritize minimizing spring and position change, musicality, creative prop use, or multi-tasking over efficacy. Many classes try to do too much at once. Graduate Pilates is different.

In every class format instructor at Graduate Pilates will use a knowledge-driven approach to:

  • Warm up

  • Training

  • Stretching

Mobility, Stability & Strength

A lot of people make claims that Pilates can do everything for anyone. And we are here to keep it real. Pilates can do a lot of things for a lot of people, but it's main benefits are improving mobility, stability and strength. This is our first area to focus when it comes to a structured Pilates approach.

  • Increase the comfortable range of motion in your joints

  • Build your core strength and awareness

  • Improvement in your physical and mental strength through practice and varying stimuli

Integration, Progression, & Understanding

As your structured Pilates practice continues, you will understand how to recruit the mind-muscle connection necessary to:

  • Control your movement with precision

  • Remain stable and strong under increased or decreased load

  • Coordinate areas of the body to complete more complex choreography without losing it's efficacy

  • Integrate the knowledge into other areas of your life

Who Structured Pilates is for

Structured clients works for a wide range of clients because it treats your work-out as as system backed by Pilates and exercise science principles.

Structured Pilates at Graduate Pilates is especially for you if:

  • You are new to Pilates and need a clear starting point

  • Feel stuck or have plateaued in your practice elsewhere

  • Want more than just a random workout--you want to see progress over time

  • You prefer a more methodical approach to movement

Structured Pilates ≠ Boring Pilates

Just because a class is structured, does not mean it is boring. Many worry that if there is no expectation of a new flow each week that they will get bored. If completely new choreography every class a deal breaker for you, we are not your studio. And that's okay. But, hear us out. There are so many exercises within the Pilates system that it would take a long time to get bored when you are focused on doing them with precision and being coached in a way to do so. We still have so much freedom across multiple pieces of equipment to make this class fun, while still remaining structured. We bet when you start feeling the difference, you will forget all about the endless variety of non-structured classes.
